Der Anfang: unsere Liebe zum Meer
Kennt ihr es auch: diese Sehnsucht ans Wasser zu fahren? Wir als echte Schleswig-Holsteiner sind damit aufgewachsen. Das Wasser, am Anfang die Ostsee, waren immer in kürzester Zeit erreichbar und Strandausflüge das ganze Jahr normal. Besonders schön sind die Spaziergänge in stressigen Zeiten, um den Kopf frei zu bekommen. Aber eigentlich muss man niemanden die Meerliebe erklären. Ich habe jedenfalls bisher niemanden kennengelernt, der nicht gern Zeit in Wassernähe verbringt.
Und irgendwie gehört es beim Spazieren gehen am Wasser dazu, irgendetwas zu sammeln. Die Augen streifen entspannt über den Sandstrand oder Meeresboden und entdecken die größten Schätze. Zu Hause kann man sich seine kostenlosen Mitbringsel in Ruhe angucken und in Erinnerungen schwelgen.
Wir sammeln zunächst einmal drauflos und überlegen im Nachhinein, was wir aus unseren Fundstücken basteln können. Wenn ihr unseren Blog regelmäßig lest, habt ihr ja schon viele Ideen entdeckt. Hoffentlich inspirieren wir euch zum Nachmachen, Mitmachen, denn unsere Wohnideen sind größtenteils nachhaltig und somit umweltschonend. Und Selbermachen oder Kreativsein tun so gut!
Die beste Zeit Treibholz zu sammeln ist natürlich nach einem Sturm. Dann spülte das Meer besonders viel Holz ans Meer. Und im Herbst gibt es die meisten Stürme und die wenigsten Treibholzsammler sind unterwegs. Wir fahren sowohl zur Nordsee als auch an die Ostsee. An allen Stränden gibt es Treibholz zu finden. Die größte Schwierigkeit ist das Tragen des Holzes, denn es ist manchmal extrem schwer. Besonders geeignet ist ein riesiger Rucksack. Einen Bollerwagen durch den Sand zu ziehen empfinden wir als sehr schwer. Das Benutzen eines Einkaufstrolleys haben wir noch nicht versucht.
Zu Hause wird das Holz gereinigt und muss dann erst einmal trocknen. Denn Holz arbeitet und verzieht sich. Wenn es ist trocken ist, kann die Bearbeitung beginnen.
Neben Treibholz, alten Tauen und Seilresten, Muscheln, schönen Steinen wie auch Hühnergöttern (also Steinen mit einem Loch) sammeln wir auch Seeglas. Daraus kann man schöne Windspiele und Mobiles bauen.
Natürlich ist am Strand auch viel Müll zu finden. Alte Kanister, massig Luftballonreste, alte Schuhe…usw. Am Anfang haben wir überlegt, ob man aus diesen Teilen noch Etwas basteln kann. Aber das liegt uns nicht. Dieser vorwiegend Plastikmüll landet in der Tonne.
