Schöne Kerzenhalter für gemütliche Stunden
Heute zeigen wir euch ein paar Kerzenständer, die relativ einfach herzustellen sind. Vorausetzung ist, dass du einen schönen Ast, möglichst Treibholz, hast. Denn die Form des Astes bestimmt das Aussehen des fertigen Kerzenständers.
Wir haben einige wunderbare Äste bei unseren Strandspaziergängen gefunden. Diese werden zunächst feucht abgewischt und müssen dann mindestens 4 Wochen trocknen. Anschließend werden sie mit einer Drahtbürste gereinigt. Falls das Holz zu grobe Splitter hat, schleifen wir die Stellen entsprechend. Ansonsten lieben wir es, wenn das Holz möglichst nicht weiter behandelt wird. Denn das lange Verweilen im Meerwasser hat das Holz bereits stark verändert, die Harze sind herausgespült und die Oberfläche zeigt meistens tolle Strukturen. Auch die Farbtöne des vom Meerwasser geschliffenen Holzes gefallen uns sehr gut. Manchmal wachsen wir das fertige Wohnaccessoire, um die Optik ein wenig zu verändern.
Die eigentlichen Kerzenhalter oder auch Kerzenteller kaufen wir. Dabei achten wir darauf, dass die Größe gut zu dem Ast passt. Wir lieben es, den Kerzenhalter mit bunten Kugelkerzen zu bestücken, das sieht so fröhlich aus.
Auf dem Foto oben ist erkennbar, dass verschiedene Kerzen unterschiedliche Optiken erzielen. So kann man mit Farbe und Form viele unterschiedliche Dekorationsmöglichkeiten testen. Wer will kann die Kerzenständer auch noch mit Bändern verzieren, ganz nach Jahreszeit.
Wie ihr als Leserinnen und Leser sicherlich schon gemerkt habt, versuchen wir möglichst nachhaltig zu leben. Zum einen, weil uns eine intakte Umwelt wichtig ist, zum anderen, weil dieser Lebensstil zu uns passt. Wir sind nicht so für viel Plastik und Massenprodukte, wir lieben das Persönliche und Individuelle. Gerade Treibholz ist ein super nachhaltiges Material, dazu noch kostenfrei. Und es hat diese einmalige Optik, die künstlich nicht nachzumachen ist. Ich weiß, dass es manchmal versucht wird, in dem neues Holz bearbeitet wird, aber das verstehen wir nicht. Warum muss man Neues absichtlich alt machen? Dann kann man doch gleich Natürliches oder Altes verwenden? Aber nun ja, Menschen sind unterschiedlich, das Leben ist bunt und jeder darf seinen Weg gehen;-)
Ganz nachhaltig können wir auch noch nicht leben. Wie ich euch erzählt habe, kaufen wir die Kerzenteller ein. Wir haben schon überlegt, ob wir diese nicht aus einem alten Material herstellen können, aber noch nicht die passende Idee gefunden. Habt ihr einen Vorschlag?

Man könnte die Schraubdeckel von Glaskonserven nutzen. Dazu eine Schraube in die Mitte bohren. Bei der Kerze dann ein etwas größeres Loch unten mit einem Bohrer bzw. heißen Nadel erweitern, dass die Kerze über die Schraube passt. Zur Hälfte in das Holz bohren. Vorher mit Ofenlack die Deckel einfärben
