Passend zur Sommerzeit haben wir eine kleine Vase zum Aufhängen im Garten oder auch in der Wohnung gebastelt. Auf der Suche nach einer weiteren Idee, um unsere schönen Muscheln zu präsentieren, haben wir ein tolles kleines Treibholzstückchen entdeckt. Mal wieder ein Fundstück vom Nordseestrand. Wie praktisch, dass wir in Meernähe wohnen.
Da Treibholz im Meer schwamm, ist es natürlich witterungsbeständig. Also sehr gut für Outdoordekorationen geeignet. Abgesehen davon hat Treibholz diese einmalige schöne Optik und Haptik.
Wir waschen unsere Treibholzfundstücke zunächst einmal ab und lassen sie dann mindestens 4 Wochen trocknen. Dann reinigen wir das Holz mit einer Stahlbürste und schleifen es, falls es zu grob ist. In diesem Fall haben wir es nur leicht an den Seiten mit Schmirgelpapier geschliffen. Zum Aufkleben der Muscheln verwenden wir Holzleim. Es dauert 24 Stunden bis er richtig ausgehärtet ist. So kann man an den Produkten noch lange Kleinigkeiten verändern.
Als letzten Schritt haben wir ein kleines Glasgefäß mit einer Schlauchschelle am Holz befestigt. Die Schlauchschelle lässt sich öffnen, so dass man die Vase zum Reinigen herausnehmen kann. Wie gefällt euch die Idee?
