Wir haben eine schöne Idee, was ihr mit euren Treibholzfunden anfangen könnt.
Baut Treibholzständer für Postkarten und Fotos. Es ist ganz einfach.
Das Treibholz muss zunächst gereinigt und dann getrocknet werden. Wir lassen es mindestens 4 Wochen liegen, denn Holz arbeitet und verändert sich beim Trocknen. Dann sägen wir es in der passenden Länge und anschließend einmal in der Mitte durch. Als Letztes Sägen wir einen schmalen Schlitz zum Hineinstellen der Postkarten oder Fotos hinein. Eigentlich ist der Postkartenständer so schon fertig, es sei denn, du möchtest ihn noch ein wenig veredeln. Du kannst das Holz leicht schleifen, falls es dir zu grob ist. Das Behandeln mit Öl gibt dem Holz einen satten Ton. Dafür nehmen wir gelegentlich Olivenöl, das wir auch zum Kochen verwenden. Du kannst natürlich auch spezielle Holzöle kaufen, wenn du gleich mehrere Stücke herstellst.
Wenn du erst einmal anfängst, entdeckst du die vielen Möglichkeiten! Du kannst die Treibholzenden gerade absägen oder das natürliche Ende verwenden.
Wenn du dich jetzt fragst, wann man wo am besten Treibholz sammeln kann, dann können wir folgenden Tipp geben: früh morgens nach einer stürmischen Nacht findet man an der See am meisten Treibholz. Früh morgens deshalb, weil noch nicht so viele Treibholzsucher unterwegs sind. Im Prinzip kann man überall Treibholz finden: an Nord-und Ostsee, aber auch an Flussufern und den Stränden an größeren Seen.
